1. How the app works

LittleUs is a desktop pet that lives on your screen. It never sees your screen: it captures no screenshots, records no video, and reads no files, chats, or input. The only thing it knows about your computer is whether it is currently unlocked — one bit of status, reported so your partner's pet can wake up when you sit down and nap when you step away.

2. Data we collect

2.1 Account data. When you create an account, we collect your email address and a display name. You may also choose a pet and give it a name. This is what your partner sees about you — nothing more.

2.2 Purchase data. When you purchase Couple access, your name, email address, and payment information are collected by our payment processor, Whop. We do not store your credit card details. Whop handles all payment processing in compliance with PCI-DSS standards.

2.3 License data. We store your license key's hash, its activation status, and the account it was activated on, to enforce our one-account-per-key policy. Each Couple purchase includes two keys: one for you, one for your partner. Keys are never stored in readable form.

2.4 Presence and signals. We store the unlock/locked status bit described above, and the signals you deliberately send — a kiss, a nudge, or the text of a note — so they can be delivered to your partner's pet. LittleUs is not a chat app: there is no inbox to scroll, and this data is deleted when either paired account is deleted.

2.5 No screen or input data. To be explicit: we do not collect, store, transmit, or have access to your screen contents, keystrokes, files, camera, microphone, or location. Nothing is captured or recorded on your computer beyond the pet's own appearance and position.

3. Your rights (GDPR and similar laws)

We collect only the minimum data needed to run the service (data minimization). The legal basis for processing your account and presence data is the performance of the service you signed up for; the legal basis for purchase data is contract fulfillment. Where GDPR or similar laws apply, you have the right to:

• Access — request a copy of the personal data we hold about you.
• Correction — fix inaccurate data from the app's Profile page or by emailing us.
• Deletion — delete your account yourself at any time from the app's Profile page, or ask us to do it.
• Portability — receive your data in a structured, commonly used format; email hello@littleus.co and we'll export it for you.
• Objection and restriction — object to or ask us to restrict processing in certain circumstances.
• Complaint — lodge a complaint with your local data-protection authority.

4. Data sharing

We do not sell or trade your personal data. We share limited information with service providers that process it on our behalf: Whop, our payment processor; Resend, which delivers transactional email such as license keys and receipts; and Supabase, which provides our database hosting, authentication, and realtime presence. Each receives only the information necessary to provide its function and may not use it for unrelated purposes.

5. Cookies

The website uses essential storage for authentication and session management only. We do not use tracking cookies or third-party advertising cookies. The site loads a Whop visitor pixel for checkout attribution, which is governed by Whop's privacy policy.

6. Data retention and deletion

You can delete your account yourself at any time from the app's Profile page. This immediately removes your profile, pairing, pet state, presence data, and signals. Purchase records are retained in anonymized form for billing support. You may also request deletion by email.

7. Security

All traffic is encrypted in transit. License keys are stored hashed, never readable. Access to stored data is scoped by row-level security so each account can only read its own data. We never store payment card details.

8. Children's privacy

LittleUs is not intended for use by children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children.

9. Changes to this policy

We may update this privacy policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated date, and significant changes will be announced in the app or by email. Continued use of the app or website constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
